Life in General

I am without a doubt the worst blogger in history! Not really, one blogger I follow hasn't blogged since April!

Life has changed dramatically for us over the last few weeks! First of all, tomorrow marks six weeks since my surgery and I am doing great! I feel wonderful and I think have recovered very well. By the end of the first week I was sick of laying around and was able to start getting out and doing a few things. It was a slow process, but it was so much better than laying around!

Tyler started kindergarten earlier this month and Kayla started 5th grade. I am overwhelmed at the fact that both of my children are in school now. They both got wonderful Christian teachers - praise God for that! Tyler's teacher actually told us that she has been praying for the kids coming into her class this year that she would be what God would want her to be for them. Is that amazing or what? Kayla's teacher is the father of one of her best friends and we know that they know the Lord. It has been such a blessing!

Tyler has made one little friend, Sarah, whom he has had a few "episodes" with. It is quite funny actually! He came home from school one day with a big hole in his shirt that Sarah cut there for him! I have to admit that I was having trouble keeping a straight face while he was telling me about it. When the story was all said and done I found out that Tyler had actually dared her to cut a hole in her shirt and she did and then she cut his too! When I fussed at him about it, he said "Mooommmmm, it was just a small hole"! Oh, the logic of a child! The next day he came home and told me that he had held Sarah's hand at lunch and that he loved her. Yep, the same boy that I'm raising is the same kind of boy that I'm warning my daughter against! He has been spoken to about girlfriends and all of that and he came home from school later that week and told me that he "didn't hold Sarah's hand today". Thank goodness!

Monday started a new schedule for our family! I'm now working 26 hours a week. So I am dropping the kids at school, heading straight to work and then leaving straight from work to pick them up. So far this week things have gone very well. I am learning to let God order my day and cut out some of my time wasters and leave some time to actually rest and take a deep breath!

Kayla brought home papers today for an overnight field trip for her Horizons class that she does. Yikes! It is two nights and three days away from school! We are discussing that. It looks like I'm probably going on a field trip in October that will include mud pitts, rope walks, night hikes, and alligators. I'll keep ya posted on that one!
